A prominent legal scholar named Ronald Dworkin argued against such a ban, citing reasons such as the fact that “people are free agents capable of deciding for themselves what is best for them,” and noting that “the fact that a handful of deviants rent pornographic tapes and watch them in secret does not justify using the law to undermine freedom of speech”—or something to that effect.
